Gaylord Texan 2010 summer

The Gaylord Texas is right down the road, so we spend time there quite often througout the year for the fun events! This year, we decided to end the summer with a couple of nights at the Gaylord for the ALice in Wonderland summer event. We had a meal with the characters, several fun games and mazes to do in the hotel. The most fun events were the magic/puppet show with the queen of hearts and the mad hatter tea party! D and I had dinner at the Steakhouse alone (perks for us!) and made tons of family memories!

I am horrible. I said I would keep up with this, and yet, here we are....nothing done about it! Okay, let's see....summer was great! Kids are now in 1st grade and pre-3's and thriving! Nothing normal around here...as usual. THis last weekend, we fractured a finger (P), we scrapped skin off of the toes on 1 foot (C), we had our arm stuck in the party city automatic sliding door (C)..and I am pretty sure I will receive a bill for that ( I took, or shall I say, threw the door off the hinges retrieving her arm!) and then I dropped a butter knife, and it stuck into my toe....straight up! Like I said, nothing short of a usual life for me! Oh, I did have a health scare, but God is good, and again....something weird, but totally okay for me......I love my life! (even if I do need a good amount of coke and advil to make it through it!)

Okay, so I have neglected this blog for quite sometime now. I am trying to get back into the swing of things here. Long story short....our water heater backed up in February, dumping 40 gallons of hot water through my ceiling, into my kiddo's bathroom, hallway and bedrooms. So, since then, we have had nothing but caos and mass repairs. Repairs to the lump sum of almost 25,000.00. If you can believe it, not only is it that bad, but the morgage company has to ration out our money to us. If you repairs are over 10,00.00, then your inusrance co will mail your mortgage co your money. (Just want to give a shout out to all the people who give honest homeowners a bad name! Thanks!) They have to delegate for you since there are those homeowners who will run to mexico with the money! ANyway, new floors, new paint, new bathroom walls, ceilings and ect can really run a girl down! I will post pictures for all of you who want to see my anguish! Prayers that my painters will finish tom and that my plumber will call me back! I won't hold my breath!~

P had Homecoming Week at school. They always have a theme per day during this fun week! This year there was Camo Day, Class Color Day, Animal Day and Navy Pride Day! So much fun!

Texas State Fair-2009

Here we are again, at the State Fair of Texas. Actually, C had never been before this and it was P's 3rd time. We had a long day with beautiful weather. I can proudly say that I did not try any of the fried stuff...ie..butter, pickles, twinkies, oreo..ect...Yuk! But, we did have our fill of popcorn, cotton candy, and a corny dog for Daddy!

Today on the way to take P to school, I was crying while hearing all of the sweet messages and the national anthem. He asked what was wrong, and in his understanding, I explained 9/11 to him. In that moment, we decided to do something today to show someone close here our appreciation and that we had not forgotten. After school, The kiddos and I along with our best buddies and neighbors took a little trip over to the local fire depart. to give them a cookie cake, some kid made cards, and a big bunch of Hugs and hand shakes! My children were so excited and of course Miss C wore her 4th of july outfit to make sure they knew she cared! LOL! I am so proud of our country and so proud of the Americans who serve everyday. We chose our local station because they have a dear place in my heart already. They have toted my sweet baby girl to many hospitals in her short life. Approx 5 ambulance rides since birth and toted myself about 3 that I can remember for complications with pregnancies and kidney stones.....so they are esp dear to me. Thank you so much for all you do, everyday for all of us! I cannot even express the joy my children felt and experienced shaking the hands of those men and knowing that they save lives. My son has not stopped talking about this and keeps saying "it's nice to be nice to nice people"...so simple...and so easy and so, so true! Thank you Lord for these men and women.

It is a sad day today. My dear sweet friend delivered her baby early this morning. He was only 20 weeks and is now with his maker. Love her and her precious self. She and her baby now share a birthday. Prayers are all around her, but I pray mostly for God's grace. Sweet, sweet baby.

Galveston 2009 Labor Day

Family...who could want more in this earthly life. This was the first trip as a famiy of 4 in 2 years. Very fun, emotional, sweet and sweaty! LOL! We had the best time. Watching my husband and son strengthen their relationship on the coast was more than any Mother could ever ask for. Oh my God....oh my loving, gentle, faithful, gracious, just God. We were joined by My parents, one of my m-i-l and her sister and my brother and sister in law. We stayed for 3 nights and had a blast playing together. We sat in the pool, basked in God's glory at the Beach and shopped like a bunch of sinners! Thank you my Lord for all of the blessings you have bestowed upon me and mine.

Diamond in the Rough

Okay, so this Saturday morning was none like any other! David is moving home today and so the moving of stuff begins.....but not before I get the phone call that Mr. P is sick...and needs to see the Dr. Yippee...so Miss C and I hurry to grab him from Daddy's then we hit the road to the Ped...but wait.....wait for it.......yes, that is correct, Miss C is huffing in the back seat, when I ask her what is the deal, I hear " I lost my diamond up my nose" and with HUGE tears and screams, I realize that, yes..again, we have lost an item up our nostrile. Well, being that we were already on the way to the Dr. we were able to get our appt. for 2! We were just here 2 weeks ago for Miss C's slit chin that required, tears, blood and some medical super glue! So, of course when we arrive, I hear "oh, it's C.......again" followed by quiet laughter among all staff! We were in and out ind about an hour, in that time we learned P has a virus, no strep, needs more inhaler meds, they ice burned his wart off of his hand, C had a diamond removed and off we went. Needless to say, Poor Jack who was declawed on Friday did not get picked up from the vet today, maybe monday Jack, maybe monday!

Galveston 7/2009

So we headed out to Galveston for a getaway for about a week with our Gramma Alice, Grandma and Grandad and our aunt Lacie! We stayed at the Moody Gardens for a couple of nights, the Galvez (where my grandparents honeymooned all those years ago) and a couple at Gramma Alice's. We had such a great time and fun was had by all..highlights were: Ferry Ride to Boliver Island and seeing tons of dolphins while on the ferry, touring the submarine and battleship, the BEACH (of course) and fun restaurants and dives!

Okay, so more tidbits of our holiday! I just love being able to wake up for the first day of Christmas break and see the faces of my smiling children with wonder floating in their heads! They were so excited about ALL of the magic and blessings this year! Really interesting that my 2 year old was more obsessed than ever with being good, but not for santa, but for Baby Jesus to have his birthday with her! SHe really was so nuts about this and it was just a pleasure to watch her learn all the traditions that seem still too mature for her! I am so honored to be the mother of these two precious gifts from God! Merry CHristmas!

Okay. WHy is it that I always feel like I am left in the dark on things. I am having a pathetic, poor me day today. I look and feel yucky today. I was suppose to come back home and clean after taking P to school. But as always, things come up. More so, I decided that for the first time today, even though I never actually look like I am put together, I decided to not even attempt looking cute. So I wake up, throw on my clothes and get the kiddos ready and head out the door. Afterall, P doesn't even want me to walk him in. So I am thinking, okay, I will just let him out and run! NOPE, UH HUH, NADA, Ain't gonna Happen Mamma! TOday, of all days, I hear from my sweet 5 year old " Mommy, sister wants to go in with me and she is crying. I have to make her happy, she is my sister." How in the world can you tell your sweet, loving boy....."Mamma looks like death!" So in we all go! Mamma's hair clip and all. Ugh. So that was the 8 O"clock hour!Just ignore me today. I am a blah.

So everyone who knows me, knows that I am crazy nuts about Fall! I love this season more than chocolate, maybe more than my cat! Here are some quick pics from our fall fun! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Batman and Cheetah! I pulled P out of school on Monday and took the kids to the Arboretum for a day trip! We do this every Holiday! It is kind of a tradition with me! LOVe all the kid activies on Mommy and Me dates! The kids just love it! There is a photographer there, a petting zoo and most fun of all....................The Fantastic Face Painter whose line is also a fantastic hour long! But what is a mamma to do! Look at those adorable mugs! These 2 are the most well behaved children on outings! So what fun was had by all! Here is also a pic of the kids great jack-o-lantern croc like shoes! TDF! Oh' and those are my new floors! I will blog later, so much going on......the flip flops are flippin' floppin' everywhere these crazy busy days! Love to all of God's little pumpkins out there!

Here are some pics from our trip! Too Cute! I am so blessed! We really had so much fun! I cannot wait to return! Let's face it, dancing with a Prince, seeing your Mermaid and looking at Legos galore is a great way to spend a few days every year! I hear about the prince every night from Miss C! She tells me she danced with "Rella's Daddy"! All men are still Daddys in her eyes so this was Cinderella's (rella as we know her) daddy! Too cute!

So there is that favorite place that I go every year and hope to continue to do forever! I do love me some good ole magic and wonderland! This year Mr. P and Miss C and I met up with our Gramma Alice at Disney for a week of fun in September! What a glorious trip! Let's just say, it was definately a Melanie Trip! We arrived at the airport an exactly 1 1/2 hours before the flight! I never like to sit at an airport for 2 hours with 2 kids! So we left our little cottage at 5:45am (someone thought it would be great to get all those hours filled with Disney magic, so let's fly out at 8am! Dumbo was the only one on board with that!) and arrived safely at DFW at 6:15am! Yippee! Well, as I am trying to check my bags at the curb, I learn that I am not registered on the flight. Just my kiddos and my Mother-In_law! Funny....my MIL is flying out of Houston on continental in 3 days? Not out of DFW on american today. So as usual, only I would have to go into the airport with 2 kids and my poor Father in tow! I spent an hour on the phone with Disney travel just to be told I could buy a new ticket for the 725.00 or come back tom! Well, after a few tears, a few firm statements and a really sweet American employee, the travel company agreed this was their fault and issued a seat to me! Yipee! We kiss Grandad and head to security, after all we only have 30 min. left to get to our flight! So there at security, we go through with 4 carry ons, the apnea monitor, the dvd player and a double stroller! No one forgets shoes, ect! Yippee...here we come Mickey! Just as the pixie dust is about to start flowing from this happy Mama.....dah-du-dah-dah..................I have been labeled as high risk b/c of late ticketing! So we 3 head off to super security land! Where there they take all of our shoes off...again! Are you kiddin' me. I just put back on 6 shoes and 4 of those were NOT flip flops! So they pad me down, they pad P, who is 5 and Miss C who is ripe old age of 2! Needless to say, besides a full diaper, they didn't find anything on us! On go the shoes...again! Off we go! Then just as I am entering the gate we are going to.....dah.da.duh.duh................ what is this, there is no flight here or coming or going from here? What????? So this sweet American employee informs me at 8:12 that our 8:20 flight is now at a gate in the A terminal! How funny, we are in C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a problem with out plane, so off to gate A-out in no-where land we go! Now let me tell you, I am a Fast walker, but 2 kids in a double stroller with bags hanging in all directions will not make it to a gate in A from C in 15 minutes! So there I am. Now I am about to be in tears! I am a tough cookie, but let's face it, I am alone with my kids in the airport and have been through the ringer! This was the high point of my day! I flag down the trolley man, he takes me, the kiddos and all thousands of our bags to our gate! We make it just as they are about to close the doors! Whoa! What a morning! SO we load our flight and off we go! Thank you Lord! Out flight was quick, had a friend/neighbor on my flight as the attendant, so that was wonderful and then we land! Here we come Mickey! Well, we get the stroller load it up and off I go, alone with my kids on our adventure. Oh' but not before the back right wheels go rolling off of my over expensive Maclaren double stroller! You have to laugh by then. Only in my life, would the stroller wheels leave you just as you are about to spend a week using it! The Lord is so good to me, but I am still wondering if I broke a few mirrors in childhood? Needless to say, This was just the first 5 hours into this trip! Let me just tell you....there were many more moments, but I will go again next year! I felt really loved and empowered! I took my 2 small children on 2 flights and to Disney for 3 days by myself and we had a wonderfully sweet time and enjoyed the begeegees out of each other! God is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I am so in love with my family! My P and Miss C are just too much for words! I just love being their Mommy! I only can hope that they love me being their Mommy 1/2 as much as I love it! God gave me such a fairy tale!

Flip Floppin my way with Faith

Okay, so I haven't actually done my blogging in a LONG time! LONG story short...Our dear Lord has changed up my life a bit! Let's face it! The Lord works in mysterious ways...well, you always hear that! I don't feel that way. He works in HIS way and a good Christian woman, I am gonna have to slap that smile on my face and let him teach me what he wants me to learn! So ladies, here I am. I am going to be still. Here I will sit with my children and my Faith! Here I will be! I am going to call this blog Flip Floppin Faith for many reasons, but 2 main ones! My lovely friend ANgela always cracks me up. She bought me for my birthday one of those cute note pad sets, you know with the little drawn people to look like you! Well, mine had me in a pair of flip flops! IT was then that i realized that most people who have only known me since becoming someone's mother, have only seen me wear flip flops, not real shoes, just flip flops. Well being that and that I am who I am, she had a great laugh b/c I am such a dork that I wear them year round! ANyway, I also have such a flip floppy way about me, even though I am a total type A personality, my life seems to always be flip floppin between a little past normal and a little short of crazy. Faith comes from my huge amount of Faith that the Lord has taught me to live with starting about 3 years ago! God is AMazing!!!!! This page is going to be my life down so that my children will have some sort of scrapbook! I have given up hope on that! Well, I am trying to let it go! IT's been gone for a while, but my head can't let that or all those unused supplies go! Enjoy, if at all possible!

First of Fall

Let me just begin by saying that I LOVE Fall! I not only love it, I am actually addicted to it! I am such a nut about pumpkins that it is crazy! Most people love Christmas or Easter, which I do, but I adore Halloween! Who knows why....maybe b/c my Dad was such a nut about it too!? I just cannot wait for the leaves to change color and for the wind to blow that fresh smell of fall through my home! Football games, parties, park days.....Just love it!
